The business with the solar industrie developed well in the first quarter 2009: Leoni's BETAflam solar cables are halogen free and flame retardant as well as UV, ozon and hydrolysis resistant. Thanks to electron-beam cross-linked compounds, the cable is also high temperature resistant, which makes it ssuitable for permanent operating temperature up to 145 °C. The solar power cables have both TÜV approval for the European market and UL approval according to the latest NEC specifications.
