Roth – The German LEONI plants in Roth, Brake and Friesoythe have once again passed the audit of the international environmental standard DIN EN ISO 14001. In addition, the Hungarian plant LEONI Kabel Hungaria has been certified for the very first time.
The Roth plant was first certified in the year 2000. The audit, conducted by DQS (German association for the certification of management systems), is repeated annually in order to check whether the requirements concerning the environmental friendliness of production continue to be met. Mr. Wolfgang Lösch, Plant Manager, Mr. Bernd Eiteljörge, LEONI Kabel GmbH & Co. KG Environmental Management Representative, and Mr. Roland Mainka, Environmental Representative, succeeded in leading the Roth plant to significantly reduce its engergy consumption and to decrease its transport volume. In addition, the training of LEONI employees concerning environmental awareness has further been intensified.
Hungarian plant highly committed
The cable plant located in Hatvan, Hungary, ranges above the country’s average in its resource presevering measures. Examples are regular air pollution controls, resource disposal is carried out in Germany and the installment of hazardous material cabinets. For the year 2002, it is intended to extend the environmental certification to other facilities abroad.
Preparing for the Landesgartenschau 2003 in Roth (German Gardening Show)

KG will further optimize its ecological conditions especially in view of the small Landesgartenschau which will take place in Roth in 2003, e.g. the increased planting on undeveloped areas.LEONI Kabel GmbH & Co.
