LEONI provides the new president of FTTH Council Europe

Nürnberg/Gmünd, 7 May 2007 – At the Annual General Assembly of the Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council Europe held in Brussels Joeri Van Bogaert, Director of Sale at LEONI NBG Fiber Optics GmbH, has been elected as the new President of the executive board.

Joeri Van Bogaert, comments, “ With FTTH deployment now recognised as ‘the choice’ for real broadband access within Europe, and as major implementations of the technology begin to approach, the Council has decided to shift to the next gear, in order to ensure that the decision makers across Europe choose FTTH as their access technology.”

With 70 member companies from the Industry; Manufacturers, Construction & Engineering Companies, NPO, Academia it is the mission of FTTH Council Europe to accelerate the deployment of FTTH through promotion and education to enhance the quality of live in Europe. Therefore the council organise through the different committees conferences, white-papers, fairs and workshops. The presidency is valid for one year and can be extended with one year.
