Leoni has received General Motors’ “Supplier of the Year Award” for outstanding performance in terms of quality, service, technology and value in 2007. World’s largest carmaker bestowed this award to just 97 of its roughly 4,000 suppliers worldwide. This is the sixth time already for Leoni to be rated among the best suppliers.
Dr Alfons Härtl, Executive Vice President of Leoni Bordnetz-Systeme, accepted the award during a festive ceremony held in Jacksonville, Florida on 26 April. “We regard receiving this best supplier award again as testimony to the outstanding quality of our products, our consistently competitive cost structure and Leoni’s leading logistics expertise,” said Dr Härtl.
General Motors also praised the Nuremberg-based group: “We are proud to commend Leoni as supplier of the year,” said Bo Andersson, Vice President Global Purchasing and Supply Chain of the GM Corporation. “The Company receives this award based on its outstanding performance and for its significant contribution to making our world class cars.”
Collaboration successfully broadened
General Motors has been a Leoni customer for more than ten years. For instance, Leoni supplies the whole wiring system for the current versions of the Opel Astra and Zafira models. In addition, Leoni will in the future supply product from its worldwide production network for a global compact car platform of GM destined for the respective car markets in Europe, North America and Asia.
