Change in LEONI Board of Directors

Uwe Lamann to take over Wiring Systems Division

Nürnberg - Uwe Lamann (49) has been appointed by the Supervisory Board of the Leonische Drahtwerke AG as a full member of the Board of Directors effective July 1, 1999. He will take over the Wiring Systems Division and therefore succeed Günther Sendlinger who will retire by the end of this year. Lamann is not an unknown figure in the automotive industry. The college educated electronics engineer for many years held a leading position in the field of automotive technology for Siemens, Regensburg, and through this established very good contacts with a number of renowned car manufacturers. This is why Günther Sendlinger who successfully expanded the LEONI Wiring Systems Division, is also convinced to have found the suitable successor in Uwe Lamann who will be apt to continue with the ambitious expansion strategy of the company. As reported earlier, the Leonische Drahtwerke AG will be transformed into a holding by the name of LEONI AG. The units Wire, Cable, and Wiring Systems will become separate legal entities completely distinct from the stock corporation. For 1999 LEONI aspires to reach a turnover of about DM 1.1 billion.
