Leoni signs supplier contract with truck manufacturer DAF

Wiring systems for trucks and engines will be delivered for another five years

Nuremberg – The wire, cable and wiring systems specialist Leoni receives a large order from truck producer DAF. According to the agreement, signed from both companies, Leoni will equip two of the manufacturer’s truck series and its premium engine Paccar MX with wiring systems.

The contract ensures for five years Leoni’s supply of overfoamed harnesses for DAF engines lead by DAF’s premium Paccar MX 12.9-litre 6-cylinder engine, which was introduced in 2006. This engine has been newly designed and is ground-breaking in terms of fuel economy, reliability, durability, and performance. Leoni will deliver its harnesses to DAF’s European headquarters in Eindhoven, Netherlands, where the Paccar MX engine is produced.

Moreover, the agreement prolongs Leoni’s current supply of conventional harnesses for all DAF XF 105 and DAF CF series trucks, which are produced in Westerlo, Belgium. The DAF XF series is built for the long haul, and the DAF CF Series is built to handle the demands of intensive use in regional or national transport deployed in a diverse range of activities, varying from urban and regional distribution through to light transport over longer distances, and special applications such as street cleaning and fire-fighting equipment.
