Nuremberg/Ulm – LEONI Elocab GmbH, based in Georgensgmünd and a subsidiary of Nuremberg-based LEONI AG, has acquired all the shares in neumatic Elektronik + Kabeltechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Ulm (neumatic) effective 1 July 2005. The company’s focus is mainly on developing and manufacturing tailor-made cable harnesses as well as dedicated electronics solutions for wiring and controlling commercial and special vehicles as well as cranes. In total, neumatic employs a workforce of about 200 and generated sales of approx. EUR 10 million in 2004. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

LEONI’s aim with its acquisition of neumatic Elektronik + Kabeltechnik GmbH & Co. KG, which is subject to cartel authority approval, is to further extend its position in the market for special cables and ready-to-fit cable systems. As a first step in this direction, LEONI last year already acquired the Ettlingen-based assembler of special cables Klink+Oechsle. neumatic will now complement the existing product range with its extensive expertise in customised wiring and electronics solutions for commercial and special vehicles.
