Research & Development

Development Engineer & Project Lead

As a Development Engineer at LEONI, Fernando Perez Lazcano works on developing e-mobility solutions for the wiring systems of future electric vehicles – both at a system and component level.

“Because LEONI is involved in the product development process from predevelopment through to pre-production and high-volume production, there are many ways for us developers to contribute our know-how. To do so, we define the development goals and boundary conditions for high-volume production, and create both models and prototypes. Here, it is important to take our customers’ quality requirements and cost factors into account.

Interaction with the various departments, customers and suppliers is extremely interesting, as it leads to the acquisition of new knowledge and insights. Communication skills and assertiveness are extremely important in this area – and these are two skills that are promoted in day-to-day work at LEONI. And obviously, it is also fascinating to see how an idea turns into a product that will ultimately be installed in a wide variety of vehicle models.

As developers, LEONI gives us a lot of latitude to work creatively, independently and proactively.

LEONI is adjusting rapidly to global change and paving the way for cross-cultural cooperation. Work in our international team is based on a shared set of values, ensuring that everyone feels at home and can usefully contribute to our dynamic projects.”
