Dr Andreas Brand to succeed Uwe H. Lamann on Leoni’s Management Board

In charge of the Wiring Systems Division from January 2013

Nuremberg – Leoni, the leading provider of cables and cable systems to the automotive sector and other industries, has signed Dr Andreas Brand (45) as its new Management Board member. He will succeed Uwe H. Lamann and take charge of the Wiring Systems Division on 1 January 2013.

Dr Brand has many years of experience in the automotive industry. He is currently Executive Vice President at Continental, where he has been member of the Chassis & Safety division’s management board and also responsible for the Passive Safety & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems business unit since 2008. Dr Brand joined the automotive component supplier in 2003 and began by taking on the task of setting up and managing the company’s development and production facility in Sibiu, Romania. In 2005 he was appointed Vice President of the Occupant Safety business centre.

Dr Brand previously had management roles at Motorola in Wiesbaden and at Grundig in Nuremberg. He was born in 1966 in Werneck and studied production engineering at the University of Erlangen, where he was awarded a Doctor’s degree in 1996. Dr Brand will join LEONI AG on 1 October 2012 and will take charge of the Wiring Systems Division effective 1 January 2013.

Uwe H. Lamann, the current Management Board member, will be leaving the Group for age-related reasons and will transfer a well ordered business when his contract expires at the end of 2012. He has been head of the Wiring Systems Division since 1999, which, under his management, has grown to become one of the world's largest wiring systems manufacturers.  Its sales have in that time risen from EUR 347 million to the most recent figure of more than EUR 2 billion while the number of employees increased from about 8,300 to currently more than 55,000 people.
