Leoni intends to pay a dividend in the usual amount

Statement on article of the Sunday newspaper ″Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”

Nuremberg – Leoni, the leading provider of cables and cable systems to the automotive sector and other industries, will pay as usual around one third of its net earnings as dividend for financial year 2010. With this announcement the company responds to an article in the Sunday newspaper ″Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung″ which gave rise to misunderstandings.

Leoni AG’s dividend pay-out policy provides to principally pay out about one third of its net earnings as dividend to its shareholders. ″The Management Board will propose to the Supervisory Board and to the annual general meeting a dividend of these dimensions for fiscal 2010 as well″ says Dr Klaus Probst, Chairman of the Management Board.

The Company specifies by this a statement in an interview with the Sunday newspaper ″Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung″ where Dr Probst is quoted with the misunderstandable words ″theoretically it might be an idea not to pay out a dividend again″. What is meant is the fact that it is not certain until the decision to be taken by the annual general meeting in May 2011 as to whether the dividend will be paid out. Never, at no time the Management Board intended to relinquish the dividend payout for the year 2010.
