
High Voltage Battery Solutions
Supplement to the high-voltage wiring system
As a supplement to the high-voltage cable set, we offer high-voltage battery solutions that are responsible for power and data distribution within the battery. Depending on the requirements, these can be designed individually and customer-specifically. As a long-standing and experienced partner, we offer our customers solutions to accompany development and ensure smooth series delivery.
Our Products
The battery junction box (BJB) establishes the connection and also the resolution of the connection between the vehicle's high-voltage system and the AC/DC charging components. The BJB is usually located inside the battery, but in some cases it can also be located outside the vehicle, in which case it is simply referred to as the junction box (BJ). The main tasks of the battery junction box include changing, securing and distributing the high-voltage power from the power distribution units to the high-voltage battery. The housing of the BJB is usually made of plastic or metal. The main components include busbars, cables, fuses, screws and relays. The operating voltage is up to 400/800V and the operating currents are up to 500 amps. Intelligent BJBs also have integrated controllers with a LIN/CAN interface. Thanks to our many years of experience with power distribution boxes, we at LEONI are a strong partner for our customers, from the initial conceptual design through to series production.
The Communication Harness operates in the low-voltage range and meets the requirements in the battery environment. As a rule, cable cross-sections of 0.17 - 0.35 mm² are used here. The connector systems used are based on the low-voltage range. Individual and customer-specific solutions can also be produced. LEONI has many years of experience in the design, routing and production of low-voltage cables and is therefore a reliable partner from design through to series production.
The module & device connectors establish the power connection between the battery modules and HV units. These connectors are located inside the high-voltage battery and are part of the signal and power distribution system. Each product has two interfaces, which are equipped with either plug-in or screw solutions. Depending on the requirements, unshielded standard HV cables, braided cables, busbars or a combination of several technologies can be used as the cable material. The module and device connectors are designed with touch protection and orange color in accordance with the HV requirements within the battery. Depending on the requirements, LEONI is able to offer individual and customized solutions.
