High Voltage Wiring Harness
A relevant part of the global mobility solution
The relevance of high-voltage wiring systems and components is increasing due to trends such as more and more e-mobility on the roads, as they form the basis for hybrid and fully electric vehicles. LEONI is part of this global mobility solution and has extensive know-how in the field of high-voltage technologies, special components and pursues a holistic system approach to realize sophisticated customer projects.
Our products
The charging harness is the charging cable set that provides the electrical connection from the charging socket to the high-voltage storage system. It transmits the energy from the outside of the vehicle (e.g. wallbox) to the battery inside the vehicle and can be shielded or unshielded. The Charging Harness can be used to charge the battery with both alternating current and direct current for fast charging (AC/DC). The cable cross-sections range from 35 mm² to 150 mm² and enable charging currents of up to 1,000 amperes. The main components of the charging cable set are the AC and DC charging path, the charging socket and the interface to the high-voltage storage system, whereby different types of charging plugs are used worldwide depending on the country and region. At LEONI, we have comprehensive system integration expertise based on specific customer requirements, making us your partner from design and development through to production.
The auxiliary harness is an auxiliary unit cable set and establishes the electrical connection between the high-voltage storage system and the auxiliary units, such as the heating, cooling or DC-DC converters. This is usually designed as a 2-pole connection in copper or aluminum. By integrating a Y/X-splice, more components can be integrated in a cost- and weight-efficient way. At LEONI, we have comprehensive system integration expertise based on specific customer requirements, making us your partner from design and development through to production.
The traction cable set is the third component of the high-voltage on-board electrical system and represents the electrical connection between the high-voltage battery and the electric motor. This is also usually a 2-pole connection in copper or aluminum. New vehicle architectures sometimes make it possible to shorten the wiring harnesses. At LEONI, we have comprehensive system integration expertise based on specific customer requirements, making us your partner from design and development through to production.
